British archaeologists found a 5,000-year-old drum and three children locked in a neolithic embrace – Washington Post headline
The vines of their bones twined into three broken skulls,
Forced to sway as one to a single stone drum.
Their dance swept the sea roads to shrouded lands
Where the next shamans arranged the next children,
And on and on that strange ballet found new rites
For threading arms and legs together, whirling into sacred pits,
Heads thrown back in thrilling unison until the necks snapped
And the stone drum boomed on and on and on and on.
