From Thoreau’s Journal, #13

After this first rain of consequence
I observe the shadows of massive clouds
floating in the peculiarly blue sky

When their shadows rest on evergreens
   they are doubly dark
like rings around the eyes of June

Thus it is
    after the first important rain
